So I broke down and started to subscribe to Creative Cloud and downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS6. I downloaded Sakimichan’s brushes (you can get them here: http://sakimichan.deviantart.com/art/Photoshop-Brushes-343664542 ) too and started to go to town. This is the original sketch of Lady Sansa I uploaded earlier here: http://ladywinde.deviantart.com/art/Lady-Sansa-359213514 that I’m working on. While working on it I was looking at the picture saki has on the brush page linked earlier as a reference to experiment on which brushes were being used and how. Lots of switching! This will probably be a long process so just thought I’d share this. Super, super excited. Face is the only thing that has any details now. Everything else just has one flat color. We’ll see how this turns out.
I should have traded the Kingslayer for Sansa when you first urged it,” Robb said as they walked the gallery. “If I’d offered to wed her to the Knight of Flowers, the Tyrells might be ours instead of Joffrey’s. I should have thought of that.

Just a reminder that in ASOS, Robb tells Catelyn she was right to urge him to trade Jaime for Sansa and that he should have listened to her.
the people of the Westerosi System have seen better days - the Hand of the King has been murdered, there are tremors of war throughout the system, and after the system goes through a second hand in as many years, North declares themselves in all out rebellion against Crownland.
to make matters worse, there’s talk brought by traders and freighters from the Essos System that an ancient evil has been been called back from beyond the grave by a girl Queen, the last remaning member of an exiled Westerosi family.
there’s war in the sky, whispers of aliens across the hyperspace lanes, and turmoil among the seven small planets that orbit the red dwarf star Westeros.
“My queen,” the big man said slowly, “all you say is true. But Rhaegar lost on the Trident. He lost the battle, he lost the war, he lost the kingdom, and he lost his life. His blood swirled downriver with the rubies from his breastplate, and Robert the Usurper rode over his corpse to steal the Iron Throne. Rhaegar fought valiantly, Rhaegar fought nobly, Rhaegar fought honorably. And Rhaegar died.”
Natalie Dormer pointed out to me last week that Margaery has a freedom many women lack because her family is run by a woman. Now Sansa’s been sucked into that dynamic.
Sophie Turner: Yeah, and it’s very refreshing to see Sansa kind of sucked into that as well, because all her life, really, she’s been surrounded by men. I mean, apart from her mother. Even Arya has this very boyish, tomboyish way about her. I think that’s partly the appeal of Olenna and Margaery – they’re so alike to Sansa in that way that she feels this connection with them, this bond with them. Because she’s such a strong individual female joining the ranks of Olenna and Margaery, both incredibly strong, it works. It’s a very powerful threesome, I feel.
I’m glad to hear you use the word “strong.” It’s probably kind of important to reclaim the concept of “strong female characters” from characters who can physically kick your ass to simply mean female characters who are strongly written.
Sophie Turner: I think the strong thing about Sansa is the fact that she doesn’t fight. Fighting alone can be seen as a very strong thing to do, but the fact that she doesn’t fight and she doesn’t strike back is probably her best trait. Having to resist the urge to fight back – which, you know, I’m sure she has – is in itself one of the best things about her. In that sense, she’s very strong, and she’s very strong-willed, and she has willpower. That’s very important in this world, because if someone had fought back they’d be dead. Because … Joffrey. [Laughs]

Lady Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire.
Had been sketching her for a couple of weeks, only working on it for about a half hour here and there when I wasn’t sleepy. Really happy with how she turned out. Wish my scanner was large enough so I do apologize for the break in her skirts. It’s been a long time since I’ve uploaded something from my sketchbooks since I recieved my tablet so I thought this would be nice for a change of pace. Plan on coloring this when I have the time but thought I’d share this while I could.
Adore this character, despite the ill first impressions I had of her, but as I’ve said before she has definitely grown on me over the course of the book series. Hope you like it.
I just got a text message from one of my friends who went to a wedding where the bride and groom are fans of Game of Thrones but have never read and know little about the actual ASoIaF books
and apparently a folk band at the reception played “Rains of Castamere”
Sansa Stark from the Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones.
At first I really did not like this character but as I read on from book to book I grew to admire her. I originally thought she was spoiled and incredibly naive. After the big bad that happens she’s forced to see her pretty little world is nothing at all what she thought it was.
She has to hold her own against the cruelty of the Lannisters and those who follow Joffrey without question with only her “lady’s courtesies” as her shield and armor.
Anyway I hope you guys like this, another product of my insomnia. It’s 7am and it looks like I’m sleeping the day away!
Deleted the old and reuploaded because the original upload and page was acting extremely weird.
*edit* And here comes my internal groaning of working while extremely sleepy T_T i see what needs to be fixed. i will do so later. sleep. it calls me!
